Caroline ~What are some "Southern Belle" type names?
These are some of the names that come to mind when I think "Southern Belle" names. You're the only one who can decide what you consider to be "trendy", "old-fashioned", or "hick" names; because naturally, everyone seems to have their own opinions as to what is what.

Edit: Names like Sue, Ann, Lou, Jo; which are usually accompanied by another name like Mary (i.e. Mary-Ann, Mary-Jo, Mary-Lou, etc...), are definitely hillbilly "hick" names. As are names like Annie, May, Ruby, Cathy, Lynn, etc... I should be pretty familiar with hillbilly "hick" names thanks to my mother's side of the family. They're from Kentucky, and all have hillbilly names. What are some "Southern Belle" type names?I found these names from my family tree:
Mamie Florence
Susan Artamisia
Emma Valula
Emmeline
Charlotte
Minerva Jane
Andora Dorothea
Sophia Maria
Martha Louise Ruth
Typically, Southern names seem to be confined to those Southerners who were born in the generation before the American Civil War and in the generation immediately following it. Otherwise, I did find a lot of double-barrel girl's names, but they were names like Mary Anne, Mary Carolyn, and Nancy Jane.
